The Rwanda Bushaka comes from COOPAC, a cooperative founded in 2001 to revitalise coffee production around Lake Kivu, which lies on the border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Focused on quality and sustainability, COOPAC has grown from 1,100 to over 2,000 members, gaining Fairtrade certification and significantly improving the wellbeing of its farming communities. Through their work, they have built schools, health clinics, and infrastructure while promoting organic farming practices and supporting local youth and women’s initiatives.
