ABOUT THE ORIGIN AND GROWERS
Coffee that is classified as High Grown (HG) is cultivated at elevations of 1000-1600 MASL, and is primarily grown in the southern regions of Mexico. The combination of a stable climate and rich volcanic soil makes for ideal conditions to cultivate coffee. The majority of coffee processed in Mexico is hand-picked and fully washed.
Coffee provides a livelihood for over 3 million people in Mexico and more than 92 percent of farmers are smallholder producers, tending lots from 1 to 5 hectares in size. The average yield for these producers is 58kg per hectare.
